The "Guide Gourmand" is published by Le Patriote Beaujolais Val de Saone. It's a local guide about french gastronomy. It devotes a page to Vins Descombe.

 

Our Vin de France Nicolas de la Sirventie is awarded a silver medal. (february 2013)

We are pleased to inform you that our Vin de France Nicolas de la Sirventie is awarded a silver medal during the International Best Value Vin de France 2013 Selection.

This wine tasting took place on 12th of February in Paris under the auspices of the Union des Oenologues de France. This year, the oenologists blind tasted 292 wines and this 2013 selection will be show cased on the ANIVIN de FRANCE stand at Prowein in Dusseldorf (from 24th to 26th of March 2013): Hall5-C01

 

 

 

Beaujolais Blanc: Chardonnay, a charming varietal!

Lovers of French white wines know the Chardonnay, the famous varietal used for the making of white wines of Burgundy as the “Chablis”. But only some people knows that Chardonnay is also used in the Beaujolais region, where is produced a fresh and fruity wine, named plainly the Beaujolais Blanc. The quality of recent vintages participates in the success of it wine. With a potential of quality, it’s a varietal interesting to work, which may allow the elaboration of still, sparkling, dry or sweet wines. The white Beaujolais can be drunk young or not and it gains aromas of honey and grilled notes with age. The white Beaujolais is a great value of its vineyard, then don’t hesitate, taste it!

The 24th International Sarmentelles Festival: 5 days of festivities to celebrate the Beaujolais Nouveau 2012.

The story of Beaujolais Nouveau begins in 1951 but it's in 1985 that the release of Beaujolais Nouveau is planned every third thursday of November.

In 1989, on that occasion, the village of Beaujeu, the historic capital of the Beaujolais region, decided to organize an important  popular event: the International Sarmentelles Festival.

The long-awaited moment of this festival is the "mise en perce" of Beaujolais Nouveau at midnight. Every year, light and sound accompany the spectacular broaching of the wine barrels, with a magical  french sentence: "Le Beaujolais ne sert-il pas à boire à la terre entière?" (that's to say: Does not Beaujolais give the whole of Earth a drink?)

For 5 days, the International Sarmentelles Festival livens up Beaujeu with torchlight procession, fireworks, wine tastings, shows, brunches, concerts, children activities,...

Now, the Sarmentelles Festival has an international reputation: a good opportunity to celebrate this new "nectar" and to bring up the 12 appellations of the Beaujolais vineyard.

Monday 1st of october, Vins Descombe has received a delegation from Dagestan and Russia.

 

  

After an introduction with the Chamber of Commerce in Villefranche-sur-Saone on the morning, of the Beaujolais area and global activities, this delegation came at Saint Etienne des Oullières on the evening to visit us: they have tasted our different wines and visited our technical installations for the production of bottles and Bag-In-Box.

Vins Descombe and the Hachette Wine Guide 2012

We are very pleased to announce that our wines Beaujolais Village 2010 Descombe joined the Hachette Wine Guide 2012. It is noted a star.

 

 

"An almost perfect wine"

Linked to the TV show "COME DINE WITH ME", french TV has organised a competition to determine the "ALMOST PERFECT WINE".

Vins Descombe and its Saint François have been rewarded as "almost perfect wine".

"COME DINE WITH ME" is a concept created in Great Britain , the french version is called "AN ALMOST PERFECT DINNER": five candidates living in the same city are in turn, invited to dinner with the others. The guests have to determine the better dinner in term of entertaining, table decoration and cooking.

  Vins Descombe in the ICC magazine.

"Entreprendre en Beaujolais" the magazine of the ICC (International Chamber of Commerce) has honored Vins Descombe. We are part of the leading exporting companies in Beaujolais. Sylvie Descombe shares her experience with the reader of "Entreprendre en Beaujolais". She explains the course and the succes of our implementation in China, Vietnam and Kirghistan, as well as our coming challenges: the Wine fair of Chengdu and our contract with Vietnam Airlines.

 

Conscrits celebration

"Les conscrits" is a traditional celebration in Beaujolais since the second empire (1850).

At that time "conscrits" meant : young man called to military service.

During this call, two mens from Villefranche stood in front of the military authorities wearing a black suit and a top hat. The year after all the boys aged 20, who were supposed to be presented to the military service, adopted the same dress code. At the end of the XIXth century, the mens aged 40 joined them to celebrate the year of their own draw, then all the other decades did the same.

Nowadays the "conscrits" celebration is taking place in all the villages from Beaujolais. Last week Florent Descombe took part to this traditional event. And obviously he enjoyed it.

 

        

 

 

Bernard PERRUT has the opportunity to promote Beaujolais region and wines

In the France-China Inter-Parliamentary Commission, Member of Parliament Bernard PERRUT with his colleagues intervened before their Chinese counterparts on the themes of security, environment and sustainable development. This was also the opportunity for him to promote the region and Beaujolais wines.

 

Young Ambassadors are visiting Vins Descombe.

Young Ambassadors is a programm for foreign students.

The objective of this association is to promote quality relationships between students, companies and institutions Rhône-Alpes region. As part of this exchange, Young Ambassadors have visited Vins Descombe, have taken part to a tasting.

This meeting which was taken place on April 5th, has been so successfull that our young foreign visitors are about to place their first wine order. 

 

 

Burgundy loves Madonna.

We are delighted to learn that Madonna loves the wines of Burgundy. In her latest hit: " Give me all your lovin", the star praised the Burgundy wines: "we can drink some wine, Burgundy is fine, let's drink the bottle every drop."
